Reiterating that Kenya is committed to achieving the aspirations of UNEA, which is a true reflection of a global environment body, Prof. Wakhungu observed that, the decisions that will be adopted at the assembly will have a profound impact on delivery of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), hence strengthen the science policy interface in order to address pressing environment challenges.

Noting that the theme of this year’s global environment assembly focusses on delivering the environment dimension of sustainable development goals, the CS urged nations and conservation groups on the urgent need to find solutions such as ecosystem based adaptation to deal with climate change concerns.
