Non-Governmental Organizations play a complementary  role by  partnering with the government on the implementation of programmes and projects that are geared towards uplifting the lives of our people,   Cabinet Secretary for Environment and Natural Resources, Prof. Judi Wakhungu  has noted.

Speaking when she received the Director, Forest Action Network, Dr. Dominic Walubengo in her office, Prof. Wakhungu commended the Forest Action Network for its role in working with local communities in advocating for the development of favorable policies and legislations, influencing sound forest governance and management , identifying and addressing emerging forest issues through research and advocacy  and enhancing  access to information on Forest issues ,and strengthening the collaborative engagement of with  other Key Stakeholders..

On his part, Dr. Walubengo briefed the Cabinet Secretary on his organization’s conservation activities in Transmara, Mau and Loima forests, saying that, the Forest Action Network will continue participating in the restoration of the environment and natural resources with other stakeholders at the local, national, regional and international levels.
