NOTICE is hereby given to the General Public that the Taskforce will visit forest sites and hold dialogue with indigenous peoples, local communities, County governments and the various stakeholders in the Counties that cover the Mau Forest Complex (Nakuru, Narok, Bomet, Kericho, Nandi, Uasin Gishu and Baringo Counties); Mt. Elgon forest (Bungoma and Trans Nzoia Counties); and Mukogodo forest in Laikipia County.

The objective is to hold dialogue and receive submissions on the implementation of the African Court judgement concerning the Ogiek ‘and other communities’; and proposals on how Kenya can best manage the relationships between communities and public institutions involved in management of concerned forests…….read more
