Ministry of Environment and Forestry Chief Administrative Secretary Hon Mohamed Elmi has called on private organizations to support conservation efforts being undertaken by the government.
Hon Elmi has said that private sector should support the on going tree growing campaign in order to achieve the 10% tree cover.
The CAS made the remarks today at the ministry headquarters ,when he met officials from the China World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and Shenzhen One Planet Foundation.
Director of Multilateral Environmental Agreements, Richard Mwendandu said that there is need to mainstream biodiversity conservation in other sectors to enhance sustainable development .
He said that the ministry is  in the process  of revising the current biodiversity atlas with view of protecting the areas.
WWF China Chief Executive Officer Lo Sze Ping said that , WWF China will forge for cooperation for Chinese firms operating locally to be involved in pconservation and as well learn good examples from Kenya on matters of environmental conservation.
