The incoming Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ms. Betty Maina, has said she was happy to join the Ministry, and that she will be providing guidance and leadership in the capacity she will be required.

The Principal Secretary, made the remarks in her NHIF office, during the handing over/taking over ceremony, when she took over as the Principal Secretary, from Dr. Ibrahim Mohamed, who was moved to the Ministry of Defense, in the same capacity.

In his farewell remarks, the outgoing Principal Secretary, Dr. Ibrahim Mohamed observed that, for the six months he has been in the Ministry, he had initiated the necessary reforms to enable the Ministry achieve its mandate. He thanked the Heads of Departments and sections, for the cordial relationship and support they accorded to him and appealed to them to extend the same to the incoming PS.

Addressing the Heads of Departments after taking over, Ms. Betty Maina, who was moved from the State Department of Industrialization informed them that, her work style was “easy to talk to and quick to give back|” , and promised to extend maximum support to various departments and sections so as to achieve the Ministry’s mandate.
