Ministry of Environment Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS), Hon. Mohamed Elmi today met representatives of donors  partners supporting environmental activities in the country.
The meeting for the Environment Conservation and Natural Resources Group is supporting supporting government efforts in addressing the management and conservation of environment and natural resources in Kenya.
Speaking during the meeting Hon. Elmi said that ,the aim of the meeting was to engage donors  on areas of cooperation with a view of sourcing for more donor funding for environmental conservation and climate change-related activities.
Hon. Elmi called on the donors to prioritize waste management and create a working  group that will help the government in streamlining the sector to a circular economy.
The CAS called for other donors to support the government and provide funding for environmental conservation activities and climate change.
The CAS said that the engagement with donors was ideal in assisting the government to make more informed understanding of climate finance flows, and ensure donor support is aligned to strategic ministry programs and projects that are geared towards environmental protection.
