- Green Cooling Initiative II (GCI II)
PROJECT OBJECTIVES/PROJECT SITE/FUNDING AGENCY/TOTAL FUNDING/DURATION OF THE PROJECT
Project Objectives:
- Development of climate change mitigation policies for the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) sector
- Promoting natural refrigerants and energy efficiency in the RAC sector
- Setting up of a training and certification scheme for cooling and refrigeration technicians
- Support the implementation of Kenya’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC)

2. Kenya Enabling Activities for HFC phase down

Project Objectives:
- To achieve a broader understanding of the provisions of the Kigali Amendment and to prepare the legislative basis for its ratification;
- To understand the training needs in the servicing sector that would allow for a successful HFC phase-down;
- To develop and update regulatory framework for establishing an HFC import/export licensing system.
