CS tobiko hands over boxes of bar soap and cooking oil to Kajiado North MP Joseph Manje

 Environment and Forestry Cabinet Secretary Keriako Tobiko has lauded Kajiado County for setting precedent in the rights of children, especially the girl child.

 Kajiado County Anti FGM Policy and Child Protection Bill, the CS said will cushion against injustices employed on girls.

 He urged the residents to educate both girls and boys since education makes all equal and is the only way to a successful future.

The CS warned residents against charcoal burning saying he will come back to the county for a tree planting exercise, an effort geared towards achieving 10% tree cover in the country by 2022.

On her part Public Service and Gender CS Prof Margaret Kobia said there is pride in every parent who has educated his or her children and urged parents to invest in their children.

The leaders were speaking today in Kajiado County during the commemoration of the Day of African Child where a cheque of Ksh11 million from Women Enterprise Fund was handed to women groups in the county.

During the event the CS handed over food stuff to be distributed in Kajiado County. The food items include rice (1000 bags) beans (1000 bags) cooking oil, bar soaps, face masks 5000 pieces and 1000 litres of sanitizers.

The food items are a donation from the Ministry of Devolution and ASALs, Ministry of Environment and Forestry and its SAGAs, Bidco Oil, Senator Gideon Moi among other well wishers.

The donations will be distributed to the five sub counties namely Kajiado Central, Kajiado North, Kajiado East, Kajiado West and Kajiado South.

Present were also , CAS Rachel Shebesh, Members of Parliament Elijah Memusi (Kajiado Central) Peris Tobiko (Kajiado East) Joseph Manje (Kajiado North) among other leaders.
