Principal Secretary for Environment and Forestry, Dr. Chris Kiptoo,  held a meeting with H.E. Pirkka Tapiola, the Ambassador of Finland to Kenya, at his office, where the two discussed potential areas of interest with a view to partnering.

The meeting discussed cooperation in the areas of solid waste management disposal as well as the circular economy. The Finnish ambassador offered to support Kenya in hosting the next World Circular Economy Forum that is scheduled to take place in Nairobi, in late 2022 or early 2023.

The PS also welcomed Finland’s offer of technical support in producing two billion seedlings for planting in the Greening Kenya Initiative campaign.
Present at the meeting were NETFUND’s CEO Samson Toniok and Evelyn Koech -Team Lead, Environment and Resilience at UNDP Kenya  whose organization has partnered with the Ministry in the 10% by 2022, tree planting campaign.
